Rescue native plants from a section of Accotink Creek which will be dug up in Spring 2024 for a restoration project. You may take some plants home with you, or help us move them to Kutner Park.
We will spend 1.5 hours digging up and cleaning off native shade plants from the floodplain, and then move to Kutner Park to remove invasives.
Examples of the plants are asters, jack-in-the-pulpit, solomon's seal, partridge berry, sedges, mosses and more.
Wear mosquito repellant, bring a bucket or 2 and some bags to take home your prizes. It is a short walk from the parking lot to the site.
